By default, you receive leads from anywhere in Ohio that fall within your practice areas. No extra configuration needed — statewide is the baseline.

Straightforward answers to the questions attorneys ask most before joining.

A "first signed engagement" means a ProctorLaw-matched client who has signed a retainer agreement or engagement letter with you — not merely a consultation. If a client schedules and attends a free consultation but does not retain you, no subscription begins. Billing only starts once a match converts to a paying client relationship.
If you receive leads but none convert to signed engagements, no subscription fee is ever triggered. You pay nothing. The model is built entirely around delivered value — a signed client — not volume of introductions.
Yes. You can pause your subscription at any time. During a pause, your profile is set to unavailable and new leads will not route to you. Billing resumes — and leads resume — when you reactivate. Pauses take effect at the end of your current billing month.
Yes. There is no long-term commitment. Cancel any time and your subscription ends at the close of your current billing month. No cancellation fees, no penalty.
No. Billing is based solely on engagements from ProctorLaw-introduced matches. Clients you acquired before joining the network are entirely outside the scope of ProctorLaw pricing.
Pay-per-lead creates misaligned incentives. You pay whether or not the lead converts, and lead quality is difficult to verify upfront. Our model aligns our success with yours: we get paid (indirectly, through your subscription) only after you've signed a client. That means we have a strong incentive to send you high-quality, well-screened matches — not volume.
ProctorLaw operates as an attorney matching and referral service, not a law firm. Our subscription fees are flat-rate access fees for network membership — they are not fees paid per referral or as a percentage of legal fees. This structure is designed to comply with Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 7.2 governing lawyer advertising and referral arrangements. We recommend reviewing the current rules with bar counsel if you have specific compliance questions.
